St. Mary’s University only releases complete transcripts to students. Current students can access an unofficial transcript via Gateway. The Registrar’s Office does not provide copies of transcripts for work done at other institutions. Please resolve all financial obligations to St. Mary’s University that may prevent you from obtaining transcripts.
Official Transcripts — Official transcripts are printed on blue security paper and have the seal of St. Mary’s University, the date and the signature of the Registrar’s on the paper.
Unofficial Transcripts — Unofficial Transcripts are printed on plain white paper and state “Unofficial.”
Official Transcripts — Official transcripts are $5 per transcript.
Unofficial Transcripts — Unofficial Transcripts can be printed by the student via their Gateway account. If a former student no longer has access to Gateway, unofficial transcript may be requested through the Registrar’s Office (maximum one copy).
Processing Time for Transcripts
Allow one to two days for processing a transcript request, and additional time during busy registration and graduation periods. To receive the transcript, you can either pick up it up or have the transcript mailed. We do not email or fax official transcripts.
Picking Up Official Transcripts
If picking your transcript up in person, they will be available after 1:30 p.m. one to two business days after the request is made. You must present your Rattler ID card, if you are a current student, or a photo ID if not a currently enrolled student. Transcripts must be picked up within 30 days of being processed or they will be discarded.
If a student wishes to have someone else request and/or pick up a transcript, we must have written authorization from the student. The individual requesting and/or picking up the transcript should bring some form of photo identification so we can verify the identity of the individual.
Mailing of Official Transcripts
Standard delivery of transcripts is by first class U.S. mail. Students who wish to have their transcripts sent via FedEx will be required to pay by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express or FedEx Account Number). Please provide the complete street address and phone number for the destination. Realize that FedEx will not deliver to post office boxes. Visit FedEx for pricing information.
If there is a hold on an account, the Registrar’s Office cannot process the transcript until the hold is resolved. Regarding requests received via mail, email, or fax, the student will be contacted immediately of the holds. After holds have been cleared, please contact the Registrar’s Office. After 30 days, the request will be closed. Holds can be cleared by contacting the offices that placed the hold. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the Registrar’s Office once the hold has been removed.
