Women’s Studies is an interdisciplinary minor available to all undergraduate students at St. Mary’s University regardless of their major. The minor educates and prepares students to lead lives based upon peace, justice, and service by exploring the role of gender in shaping the human condition locally and globally. Students gain the necessary knowledge, tools and skills to understand, analyze and conduct research on how gender has been used to create and perpetuate inequities, but more importantly, what can be done to transform society by “extending justice, freedom and dignity to all people.”
