Welcome
St. Mary's University, founded in 1852 by Marianist (Society of Mary) brothers and priests, is the oldest university in San Antonio, and the oldest and largest Catholic university in Texas and the Southwest.
Charles L. Cotrell, Ph.D., the University's 12th president and the first lay Marianist to take the helm, has served as chief executive since 2000.
The St. Mary's campus encompasses 135 acres northwest of downtown San Antonio. The University is home to five schools: Greehey School of Business; Humanities and Social Sciences; Science, Engineering and Technology; Graduate and Law.
St. Mary's students receive personal attention from some 200 full-time faculty members, 90 percent of whom have terminal degrees, and learn from powerful programs in more than 45 different areas, in addition to pre-professional programs in medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, allied health and law.
