The Greehey School of Business has launched a graduate-level certificate in Business Intelligence for working professionals. The new certificate helps decision-makers understand how to use organizational datasets to enhance business intelligence and support strategic decision-making.

Top San Antonio area employers helped develop the courses and scope of the Business Intelligence certificate based on the necessary skills managers and executives seek to develop in their employees.

“The Greehey School of Business has always been at the forefront of providing a market-responsive education curriculum relevant to the needs of industry,” said Tanuja Singh, D.B.A., Greehey School of Business Dean. “This year, we are announcing a fully online, market-driven certificate in Business Intelligence — an area that is growing rapidly in all sectors of the economy.”

This expansion of offerings follows the announcement of two new Business minors earlier this year: Digital Marketing, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

The Business Intelligence certificate is comprised of four, eight-week courses and is taught online. Students will gain a strong foundation of specific skills to explore and analyze large quantities of data using industry-driven analytical and predictive techniques, such as the R programming language, Tableau and SAS Enterprise Miner.

Students earn academic credit for the courses and may transfer them toward an MBA from St. Mary’s University within five years of enrolling in the certificate.

Courses are scheduled to begin Spring 2020. Those interested in learning more can request information and join the mailing list by visiting the Business Intelligence webpage.
