The Global Educators’ Academy offers international educators an immersive experience combining U.S. pedagogical principles with English language and cultural instruction. Participants will engage in workshops, discussions and activities designed to enhance their teaching skills and cultural understanding in an authentic learning environment specifically tailored for K-12 educators.

Participants in the Global Leadership Academy join a vibrant global community, gaining academic insights, cultural understanding and leadership skills that connect them to peers and mentors from around the world.

About U.S. Pedagogy and English Immersion
The Global Educators’ Academy offers international educators an immersive experience combining U.S. pedagogical principles with English language and cultural instruction. Participants will engage in workshops, discussions and activities designed to enhance their teaching skills and cultural understanding in an authentic learning environment specifically tailored for K-12 educators.

Use a variety of evaluation methods to assess student progress.
English Language and Cultural Immersion Goals

- Enhance oral communication through presentations and discussions.
- Participate in conversations about Texas culture, traditions and education.
- Analyze texts on U.S. history and education. Use appropriate vocabulary, including idiomatic expressions and regional terms.
- Practice writing essays, lesson plans and formal communications.
- Discover Texas’ cultural heritage, including Native American, Mexican, African American and Anglo influences.
Included in the Program Cost

Logging and Meals
- Residence Halls (double occupancy)
- On-Campus Meals
- Linens and room supplies
- Select off-campus meals

Transportation
- Airport pick-up and drop-off (available only at San Antonio International Airport (SAT)).
- Campus van transportation for field trips (e.g., San Antonio Downtown, Mission, Witte Museum, etc.)

Educational Materials and Faculty
- Faculty-led instruction by experienced educators with expertise in Middle School and High School pedagogy, supported by a teacher intern.
- 60 hours of instruction, split between English language development and pedagogy-focused workshops.
- Course materials, including books and project supplies.

Excursions and Activities
- Educational Field Trips, including museum visits and other local attractions like George Canyon Lake.
- Special activities like Garden Night or river cruises.

Miscellaneous
- Program-related materials and additional resources.
- Certificate of Completion – Accredited by St. Mary’s University, highlighting your accomplishment and professional development in international education
Not included in the program
Not Included: Visa fees, personal expenses (e.g., souvenirs, additional meals off-campus), extra travel expenses to/from San Antonio, travel insurance and international airfare.
