Program of Study
Complete your MBA in just 30 credit hours while taking all your classes online, or choose a hybrid option that includes some on-campus classes. Your schedule will include:
- 6 core courses
- 3 concentration courses
- 1 elective course
Your core classes will cover topics including accounting, financial management, marketing, strategic management, IT and international business — foundational courses that will prepare you to lead your organization. Throughout your time here, personal advisers work closely with you to help you select courses that meet your academic and professional goals.

As part of our program, we offer advising assistance. Jolene (Jialin) Zhao, Ph.D., is a dedicated graduate adviser who will provide 1-on-1 guidance to help you select your courses.
Specialize Your Studies Through an MBA Concentration
As an MBA student, you can focus your studies with a concentration in compliance, data analytics or general management. Each delivers specialized skills that make you even more marketable.
Compliance Concentration
Help businesses meet regulatory requirements and follow the law. This track is offered in conjunction with St. Mary’s University School of Law.
Data Analytics Concentration*
Learn to use data to make decisions in this STEM-designated concentration, which combines storytelling with technical analysis.

STEM-Designated Concentration
The Master of Business Administration Data Analytics Concentration is offered as a STEM-Designated Concentration. This allows international students to qualify for three years of Optional Practical Training after graduation.
MBA Admission and Scholarships
Admission to the St. Mary’s MBA program is on a rolling basis. You can start classes whenever works best for your schedule during the fall, spring or summer. No prerequisite courses, letters of recommendation or GRE/GMAT scores are required for admission.
To apply, you must provide:
- A completed online application
- Transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended
- Resume or curriculum vitae (CV)
International students must also provide a course-by-course evaluation of their credentials. Some students must also provide proof of English proficiency; connect with the St. Mary’s International Admission team to learn which countries have this language requirement.

Scholarships and Graduate Assistantships
You are automatically considered for scholarships from St. Mary’s upon applying. No additional application is needed. You may also qualify for a graduate assistantship to support your MBA studies.
Scholarships available exclusively to MBA students include:
- Greehey Endowed Scholarship: Up to $15,000 distributed in four semesters.
- ChevronTexaco Graduate Scholarship: Up to $8,000 distributed in four semesters.

Earn a Joint Degree
St. Mary’s University gives students the opportunity to study for two graduate degrees at once. Review the joint degrees available while earning your MBA at St. Mary’s:

International Joint Degree
The St. Mary’s University Greehey School of Business and Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences in Schmalkalden, Germany, invite students to participate in a dual degree program.
This program is a two-year, full-time program open to students in the MBA program. There is no additional tuition cost; however, students must pay for travel, living and other associated costs.

Joint Law and MBA Degree at St. Mary’s
The J.D./MBA is designed for law students who desire to broaden their knowledge and skills, gain an in-depth understanding of business, serve as counsel to corporations, specialize in business and commercial law, or aspire to become managing partners of large firms.
Students must apply and be admitted to St. Mary’s University School of Law as a J.D. student and successfully complete at least one semester of law school before applying to be admitted into the Master of Business Administration Program.

Joint I/O Psychology and MBA Degree at St. Mary’s
The joint M.S. in Industrial / Organizational Psychology and MBA degree is designed for students who desire to deepen their knowledge of human behaviors within organizations and workplaces.
By seeking this joint degree, students will increase their quantitative sophistication, data-driven skill sets, business exposure and ability to apply knowledge to solve real workplace problems. This program is ideal for students who are interested in higher management and supervisor positions.
