To assist in your transition to graduate study at St. Mary’s, we offer a required online orientation program for all incoming masters and doctoral students in the Greehey School of Business, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and School of Science, Engineering and Technology. This online orientation course will introduce you to our institutional mission and heritage, policies and procedures, and student support services. You will learn the expectations for graduate level study and connect with fellow graduate students all before classes begin.
You may expect an email in mid-March for Summer start term, mid-June for Fall start term, and mid-November for Spring start term, detailing access instructions to Canvas, our online learning platform, to complete the online orientation course. This course should take approximately three (3) hours to complete and must be completed before the first day of class.
Additionally, we invite you to campus for the University Orientation for Graduate Students, held the evening before the first day of classes each January and August. At this event, you will be introduced to the individuals and offices on campus that will support your studies. You will meet with your program director and other graduate students. Since your family members will be a critical source of support as you pursue your graduate degree, we invite them to join you at orientation.
Any questions may be directed to Director of Graduate Student Success, Anne Edmunds Aguirre, Ed.D. by email or by phone at 210-436-3498.
We look forward to welcoming you to the St. Mary’s family!
