The Rattler Experience

You and your guests are invited to experience a day in the life of St. Mary’s University students through this full-day program. Discover academic opportunities, engage with faculty and staff, explore student life, visit residence halls, meet current students and hear about scholarships and financial aid resources.

Below is the schedule for the Spring 2024 Rattler Experience. Information is subject to change.

9 a.m., Check-in and Breakfast

Enjoy a continental breakfast and the welcoming sounds of our student-led musical group, Mariachi Cascabel.

9:30 a.m., Welcome

9:45 a.m., Admission Presentation

Learn more about what St. Mary’s offers and the next steps in your journey to become a Rattler.

10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Choose Your Session #1

Graduate Admission
Gain insight about St. Mary’s University’s graduate programs.

Academic Preview
Connect with faculty and staff to learn more about your academic school. You’ll discover academic programs, more about your major, courses, research opportunities and more. Guides will lead you to your session from the University Center.

11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Choose Your Session #2

Parent Session
Have questions about what your student can expect at St. Mary’s University? Ask them at this session.

Pre-Professional (Pre-Law, Pre-Health) Programs
If you are considering pursuing a career in the law or the health care industry, this session will provide information on the different programs and resources St. Mary’s offers to help students prepare for admission to law school, medical or dental school and more.

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Lunch

Enjoy a variety of delicious fare, crafted by our award-winning Executive Chef Brent Gorman, at the Diamond Back Café.

11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., Resource Fair

Meet with campus resources and academic departments to learn about programs, services and organizations.

11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., Campus Tours (Optional)

Grab a snack and take a walking tour of campus with a student Diamondback Tour Guide. Tours leave at 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

1:15 p.m., Financial Aid

Learn how the Office of Financial Assistance connects students and families with available financial resources so you can make informed decisions about paying for a St. Mary’s education.

2 p.m., Closing Remarks

2:15 p.m., Residence Hall Tours (Optional)

Know Before You Go

Parking for the Rattler Experience will be in Lot S and Lot V (Visitor Parking).

Where can I park?

Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. in the University Center, Atrium.

Where do I check-in?

Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. You will be walking outside between different campus buildings and areas.

Before heading to campus, check out our interactive Campus Map to get the lay of the land. The campus map provides walking directions once you are on campus.
