Online Master’s in Communication Studies at St. Mary’s
Communication is central to human endeavors, and the Master of Arts in Communication Studies connects students to great experiences and opportunities. Our graduates enjoy success in a range of communication professions and fields, including digital media production, public relations, organizational development and event management. The curriculum includes strengthening written mastery and providing the theoretical foundation for advanced work in communication research.

Program of Study
The Master of Arts in Communication Studies is offered online with two concentrations: Communication Studies and Digital Media.
The Digital Media Concentration focuses on fields such as media, visual communication design, digital analysis, script writing and production, combining theory and practice to help students understand the field, the tools and the technologies, including AI, necessary to be successful.
The Communication Studies Concentration provides a comprehensive understanding of the diverse facets of communication, such as interpersonal communication and strategic communication, and equips students with the knowledge and analytical tools needed to navigate the complexities of modern communication in an ever-evolving global landscape.

Online Education
The Master of Arts in Communication Studies at St. Mary’s can be completed fully online asynchronously.
Degree Plans
The master’s in Communication Studies is 30 credit hours. Students can choose between concentrations in Digital Media and Communication Studies.
Graduate Certificate
St. Mary’s University also offers a 12-hour online Graduate Certificate in Digital Communication and a 15-credit-hour Graduate Certificate in Public Communication, Public Policy and Public Leadership that can be stacked with the Master of Arts in Communication Studies.
