MBA for Professionals


The MBA for Professionals program will begin fall 2017. The MBA for Professionals focuses on developing students for leadership in business. The program is designed for those seeking to complete the program at their own pace and offers areas of concentration in compliance, data analytics, health management, international business, or general business.

The program seeks to develop competent individuals who seek to transform their careers and career trajectories and seek leadership roles.

Courses and Degree Plan

The 30-credit-hour program provides students with a flexible curriculum that integrates the same core curriculum as the Greehey MBA Values-driven Leaders program with the option to choose a specific concentration.

Core Curriculum (21 credit hours):

  • International Business Core
  • Marketing Management Core
  • Management of Information and Technology
  • Accounting for Decision Making
  • Financial Management
  • Leaders, Strategy and Society
  • Data Visualization and Financial Modeling

Concentration Options (Nine to 12 credit hours):

  • Compliance
  • Data Analytics
  • General Management
  • Health Management
  • International Business

This degree may be completed in 12 to 36 months and classes are conveniently offered on campus during the evening.

Program Admission

Admission is granted to individuals with high promise for success in graduate study, as demonstrated through previous schooling and testing. All applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited college or university.

  • Online application
  • Official transcript from all colleges and universities attended
  • Official test scores:  GRE, GMAT, or MAT as required by the program.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation, preferably from a recent instructor and/or employer [three (3) letters are required for the doctoral program]
  • Resume or Curriculum Vitae/C.V.
  • Statement of Purpose/Professional goal statement

International residents must meet additional requirements as described in the International Students section.

The program is a continuous rolling admission with entry points in the fall, spring and summer semesters. Please see preferred application submission dates below:

There are no prerequisites to be admitted into the MBA for Professionals program however the student must have an undergraduate degree at an accredited University.

There are internship opportunities available from both inside and outside the University. Throughout the year there are career fairs, Business Week, and several other opportunities where internship application opportunities are available. Furthermore, St. Mary’s has a great Career Service Office that sends out emails for job openings, application deadlines, and different internship opportunities.
