Biography
Nicole Kirpalani, Ph.D., joined St. Mary’s University’s Greehey School of Business in 2023 and currently serves as a Principal Lecturer in the Management and Marketing Department. Kirpalani earned a Ph.D. in Business (Marketing) from the City University of New York, where she was a doctoral fellowship recipient.
She also holds a Master of Science in Secondary Education (Business Education) and a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Hofstra University. She has been teaching in higher education since 2000. Her higher education career followed several years of international industry experience in marketing and finance.
At St. Mary’s, Kirpalani has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in marketing, management, organizational behavior, business communication and corporate social responsibility. She is well-versed in face-to-face, hybrid, virtual and online teaching formats and holds a Teaching Online Certificate from Quality Matters.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she has served in academic leadership roles, including Chair of the Management and Marketing Department. Kirpalani is also a Marianist Educational Associate, reflecting her commitment to the Marianist mission and educational philosophy of St. Mary’s University.
Kirpalani’s research interests include consumer behavior, branding, sustainability, marketing education and the use of emerging technologies in teaching and learning. She has presented and published numerous articles on topics such as consumer co-creation in the service context, consumer-brand relationships, sustainability in the fashion industry and innovative teaching practices.
Her work has appeared in journals including Psychology and Marketing, Journal of Marketing Management and Marketing Education Review, among others.
