Conference to examine future of NAFTA

Mayors, ambassadors, business leaders to speak on trade topics

The political and trade relations among the three North American nations will be the focus of “NAFTA 2.0: The Future of North American Trade,” led by political and civic leaders at St. Mary’s University on Sept. 29.

The event – presented by St. Mary’s, the Texas-Mexico Trade Coalition and the Rivard Report – will be held from 7:30 to noon in Conference Room A of the University Center on campus.

Three panels will stress the importance of a productive, cordial cross-border relationship:

Ambassadors Panel: 8:30-9:30 a.m.
“How Texas and Mexico Built a Great Bilateral Partnership – What Comes Next?”

Business Panel: 10-11 a.m.
“U.S.-Mexico CEO Dialogue: The Case for a Fair and Equitable NAFTA Update”

Mayors Panel: 11:05 a.m.-noon
“North American Trade: The Role of Cities”
