St. Mary’s completes a yearlong marketing effort aimed at increasing brand awareness in San Antonio

In 2013-2014, St. Mary’s University undertook a robust marketing campaign including diverse exposure with concise, memorable messaging that reinforced the institution’s mission.

The aim of this campaign was to increase awareness of the institution’s brand throughout San Antonio as the Catholic and Marianist institution known for academic excellence and for graduating exceptional, ethical leaders.

Among many others, these placements included:

  • Highway billboards
  • Full-page ads in Texas Monthly, Southwest Airline’s Spirit magazine, the San Antonio Express News, and programs for the San Antonio Symphony performances
  • Internet banner ads
  • Underwriting on Texas Public Radio

St. Mary’s also unveiled the first phase of its new website in the summer of 2013. Built using WordPress, the new face of boasts an updated design, improved navigation and usability.

Rattler Athletics’ web presence also saw an overhaul in 2013. The new showcases engaging photographs of our scholar-athletes in play, improved usability of schedules and sports information, virtual tours and enhanced video options like Rattler Network. Fans and members of Rattler Nation also got a boost with the new online store,, that offers easy-to-buy St. Mary’s merchandise and apparel.
