About Rafael

What is your favorite place in San Antonio?

Brackenridge Park, and as a basketball fan, I love attending the Spurs games.

What is your favorite part about attending St. Mary’s?

Being a part of the Marianist Leadership Program(MLP) was the highlight of my St. Mary’s experience. Being able to build community and being able to serve, not just the university but our surrounding neighborhoods. MLP is a community where I felt I met lifelong friendships and network.

What advice would you give to students when looking at Undergraduate programs?

Always be open to anything and always have a backup plan. You never know where life may take you, so I would encourage all incoming students to be open and research as many programs as they can.

What causes do you care about?

Mental health awareness.

What was the best concert you ever attended?

Bad Bunny’s World’s Hottest Tour

What advice would you give to someone considering moving to San Antonio?

Moving to a new city can be challenging and nerve-wracking. Do your research on the city, it is a big city with small-town vibes. San Antonio is a city that has so much to offer. Good food and locals are all in on their Spurs and FIESTA!
