The April 2013 installment of Community Conversations at St. Mary’s featured journalist and photographer Krista Schlyer, who discussed “Bringing Environmental Sustainability and Justice to the U.S.-Mexico Border.”

Schlyer is the author of “Continental Divide: Wildlife, People and the Border Wall,” which was a 2012 Southwest Book of the Year.

She was joined by panelists David Turner, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Physics and Earth Sciences at St. Mary’s, and Srikanto H. Paul, Executive Director of the St. Mary’s University Office of Risk Management. The conversation will be moderated by Evelynn Mitchell, Ph.D., Director of the Environmental Science program at St. Mary’s.

The event was Tuesday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. with a reception at 6 o’clock. After the program, there was a question and answer session with the audience.
