Earn a Graduate Certificate for Dual Credit Teaching in Government at St. Mary’s

The Graduate Certificate for Dual Credit Teaching in Government provides an opportunity for high school instructors to be credentialed to teach Dual Credit Government courses. Teaching dual credit courses almost immediately raises the income-earning potential of high school educators and expands career options to include community college teaching. As demand for dual credit courses in Texas secondary schools increases, so does the need for qualified teachers to teach these courses.

Designed as a cohort program with meaningful faculty interaction, the certificate meets credentialing standards set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) for dual credit instructors who have a master’s degree but not the 18 hours of required subject matter graduate credit.

For instructors without a master’s degree, St. Mary’s offers the opportunity to earn a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction with Dual Credit Certification.
