Programs offered through the Department of Biological Sciences lead to the Bachelor of Arts or the Bachelor of Science degree, and prepare the student for employment or graduate study.

Graduates of the department are well-founded in science, and broadly educated in the liberal arts tradition. Areas of concentration in the Department of Biological Sciences are the health sciences, biotechnology and basic life sciences. In addition, a course sequence providing exposure to business and administration is available.
