Biography

Laura L. Walsh, APR, received a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Arizona State University. She has extensive professional experience in marketing having worked for many years in the health care industry in various director-level positions. Most recently, she served as Regional Director of Marketing for IASIS Healthcare in Utah. For many years Walsh and her husband operated a successful consulting firm specializing in strategic planning and marketing for those offering professional services. They worked with clients across the country and developed a reputation in health services marketing.

Walsh’s work has won dozens of awards in advertising and health care industry recognition programs including The IABC Gold Quill Awards, the International Association of Business Communicators, and the Best of Texas Awards. She is accredited by the Public Relations Society of America.

Walsh taught full-time as a lecturer in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University, teaching classes in the Advertising and Public Relations sequences. She also served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Communications at Purdue University Northwest. Walsh has also taught at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois.
