The Department is very internationally oriented. We teach Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Latin, Portuguese and Spanish, as well as Multinational Organizational Studies - MOS - in Spanish and in Portuguese. We have Majors in Spanish (with or without Teacher Certification), in MOS Spanish and MOS Portuguese. In addition, the Department offers Minors in Spanish and Portuguese. We have several programs that provide students the opportunity to study abroad. We also offer a traditional Secondary School Teacher Certification program in Spanish.

NEWS AND EVENTS

St. Mary's Commemorates the Beginning of the Chinese New Year

With the help of the San Antonio Chinese Association Orchestra and Dance Club, the Year of the Tiger started with great joy at St. Mary's University this February 15th. There were dances and music from several regions of China, as well as Chinese calligraphy and, of course, some fortune cookies! The students, faculty and staff present at the UC enjoyed themselves, and took the opportunity to have their names written in Chinese.
