First impressions mean everything.
Inside Blume Library’s Cotrell Learning Commons sits the new Welcome Center, helping introduce prospective students and their families to the St. Mary’s University community.

Its design was inspired to make the campus feel like home.
Diamondback Tour Guides kick off campus tours at the almost-700-square-foot Welcome Center. Previously the Academic Media Viewing Room, the area was repurposed with 72 theater-style seats, a 4K projector and a large screen.
The center’s entry doors capture the view of Cincinnati Avenue from the doors of the historic St. Louis Hall. Prospective students are told this will be their view as they process across campus to Commencement on their graduation day. In addition, the center’s walls are wrapped with designs synonymous with life at St. Mary’s University.
