St. Mary's Law Commencement Set
St. Mary’s University School of Law will hold its 79th commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 18 in the St. Mary's University Alumni Athletics & Convocation Center’s Bill Greehey Arena. John M. Vaught, partner in Denver’s Wheeler, Trigg, O’Donnell L.L.P., is slated to deliver the keynote address. 295 law students have met the graduation requirements to walk the stage on Saturday, including 14 earning masters of law degrees.
Best Advocate at Jessup Super Regional
This spring, teams from St. Mary's University School of Law competed in the 2013 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition United States Super Regional, the world's largest moot court competition. St. Mary’s law student Rachel Felderhoff Jordan was named the Best Advocate of the U.S. Super Regional. She and Meagan Scott also won a Top Ten Best Memorial Award for their case brief.
St. Mary’s Sweeps National Negotiation Competition
Two teams from St. Mary's University School of Law shut out the field and landed on top at the Robert R. Merhige Jr. National Environmental Negotiation Competition at the University of Richmond Law School in Richmond, Virginia. In the all-St. Mary’s final, Andrew Jones and David Kilgore edged out the team of J. Dean Craig and Mary Pietrazek for the national championship.
St. Mary’s Law Journal Ranks No. 22
In their recently released annual survey of law reviews, Washington and Lee University School of Law again ranked the St. Mary’s Law Journal among the best in the nation in terms of citations by state and federal courts. The St. Mary’s Law Journal ranked No. 22 among 667 law reviews published in the United States. The Law Journal was cited 75 times by American courts during the period covered by the survey (2005-2012).
