Biography
Evan Jose is an Adjunct Professor of Percussion at St. Mary’s University. As an active musician in the San Antonio area, he works extensively in both the classical and jazz communities.
As a performer, Jose is a member of the award-winning percussion section of the San Antonio Brass Band and regularly appears on drum set, vibraphone, brass and piano with a variety of jazz ensembles throughout the region.
As an educator, his students have earned positions in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-State ensembles, been accepted to prestigious summer music programs and gone on to study at leading conservatories.
As an arranger, he has written percussion books for numerous high school marching productions and has had works performed in competitions at the international level.
