A team of St. Mary’s University students in the International Relations program recently competed at the Eugene Scassa Model Organization of States held at Baylor University and came home with several awards.

St. Mary’s delegates formed two teams this year, representing Colombia and Uruguay. Our student winners were:

  • Jeremy Gelwix: Outstanding Written Resolution for General Committee
  • Jeremy Gelwix: Outstanding Delegate for General Committee
  • Juan Hernandez: Outstanding Delegate for Secretariat for Multidimensional Security

Amber Aubone, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Political Science, serves as advisor for the teams, and reported that the St. Mary’s students performed very well at the competition. The group will next compete this spring in the Model Arab League at Texas A&M Commerce.
