San Antonio – Another week, another Heartland Conference Tennis Player of the Week for the St. Mary’s Rattlers.

This time it was Carlos Olea winning it on the men’s side, the league announced Monday. Olea, a sophomore from Matamoros, Mexico went 3-0 in singles play last week with victories over conference opponents Arkansas-Fort Smith and Dallas Baptist.

His wins included a triumph over UAFS’s Evan Daniel in an epic three-set match that saw Olea take the final set 16-14.

Olea is the second Rattler to take home Player of the Week honors this spring, following in the footsteps of Marcin Marczewski (Sr., Warsaw, Poland), who won the award last week under first-year coach Lisa Dausin.

Elisha Bryant (Jr., Plano, Texas) and Valentine Lambrechts (Jr., Belgium) have also won the award for the women’s team in recent weeks.
