San Antonio – The Rowdy Rattlers, St. Mary’s student cheering section, chants “All Day” whenever Kevin Kotzur makes a big play.

And it’s because of moments like these.

Kotzur, the senior forward/center from La Vernia, Texas, has been named the Heartland Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after a monster week in which he recorded a trio of double-doubles and three 20-point performances to match over the Rattlers’ three games.

He averaged 22 points and 11.7 rebounds for the week, all while shooting 71.8 percent from the floor. His week included posting 21 points and 12 rebounds in a four-point loss to No. 2-ranked Washburn University, moving him into sixth place in St. Mary’s history with 1,533 career points.

Being named the Heartland’s Player of the Week is nothing new for Kotzur, as he won the honor five times last year, more than anyone else in the league.

St. Mary’s, 3-1 on the season, continues action Saturday when it hosts Texas A&M International in the Heartland opener. They will tip off at 4 p.m. at Bill Greehey Arena.
