CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M forward Lacee Logan led the Lady Buffs with 13 points Saturday night, as they wrapped up their Thanksgiving Classic with a 50-43 victory over the St. Mary’s women’s basketball team.

Guard Jackie Edwards (So., San Antonio) paced the Lady Rattlers with 15 points, and forward Kathryn Galindo (So., San Antonio) added eight off the bench, but it wasn’t enough on the final day of the Lady Buffs Thanksgiving Classic, presented by Roberts Ditching, at West Texas A&M’s First United Bank Center.

Slicing a one-time 12-point deficit to two, DeAnna Patterson (Sr., Converse, Texas) hit a 3-pointer with 4:05 left to bring the Rattlers within two at 39-37. But the Lady Buffs took control from there, sealing a victory on a night in which they took a 24-18 advantage into the break. St. Mary’s trailed most of the way, other than a stretch midway through the first half when it led by as many as four points.

The Lady Rattlers outshot the Lady Buffs from the floor, hitting on 37.5 percent of their shots compared to West Texas A&M’s 33.3-percent mark. But West Texas A&M camped out at the foul line throughout the game, connecting on 13 of 21 foul shots. The Lady Rattlers, meanwhile, attempted just seven free throws all night.

St. Mary’s will be back in action on Thursday, when it travels to play Abilene Christian at 5:30 p.m. in Abilene, Texas.
