San Antonio – Last week’s career-high 32-point performance helped St. Mary’s senior post Kristen Williams earn her second Heartland Conference Player of the Week award of the season on Monday.

Williams, a native of Kansas City, Mo., was awarded the honor on the heels of willing the Lady Rattlers to a pivotal 63-53 victory over St. Edward’s University last weekend. The victory helped the Rattlers (13-9, 5-2) remain just one loss out of first place in the league standings.

She added eight rounds and three steals in the “Battle of the Saints” triumph, helping her finish the week averaging 20 points and seven rebounds.

Williams was last named the league’s Player of the Week on Dec. 6, 2010.

She is averaging 12.9 points and 9.4 rebounds, leading the team in both categories.

St. Mary’s returns to the court at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Newman University.
