DENTON, Texas – The St. Mary’s Lady Rattlers went 2-1 in the 2011 Best Western Premier Spring Fling over the weekend, and on Tuesday they were rewarded for their hard work.

Three St. Mary’s players were named to the All-Tournament team, host school Texas Woman’s University announced on Tuesday.

First baseman Jared Gonzalez (So., San Antonio) made the team as an infielder, centerfielder Katie Nichols (So., San Marcos, Texas) made it as an outfielder, and ace Emily Brittain (Fr., Corpus Christi, Texas) was one of two pitchers named to the team.

Gonzalez batted .500 with five RBIs, one run scored and a home run in the tournament, while Nichols hit .333 with three RBIs and four runs scored. Nichols also homered once.

Brittain went 2-0 in the tourney with a 0.64 ERA, striking out four batters and giving up seven hits.
