DALLAS – Freshman Bailey Furgeson paced the St. Mary’s women’s golf team in the opening round of the Dallas Baptist Classic, while big sister Cami Furgeson was just a shot behind Monday.
Bailey Furgeson (Newcastle, Calif.) is tied for 36th place after firing an 8-over-par 78, while Cami Furgeson (Newcastle, Calif.) shot a 79 to tie for 46th place entering Tuesday’s second and final round.
Meanwhile, Adela E. Rodriguez (Jr., Monterrey, Mexico) matched Cami Furgeson’s 79, helping put the Rattlers in 14th place with a score of 320.
Grand Valley State leads the tournament with a score of 298, while Grand Valley State’s Sarah Hoffman is the individual leader with a 1-under 69.
For St. Mary’s, Alejandra Cantu (Sr., Mission, Texas) fired an 84 and Erika Patterson (Sr., San Antonio) shot 88.
