San Antonio – Outfielder Lauren Miller’s bat helped the Lady Rattlers stay within sniffing distance of the top spot in the Heartland Conference last week, reeling off six key RBIs to keep St. Mary’s with just one conference loss.
On Monday, the conference rewarded her for her performance, naming the senior from Baytown, Texas as the conference’s Hitter of the Week.
Helping St. Mary’s (20-13, 5-1 in Heartland) bounce back from a series-opening loss to Texas-Permian Basin, Miller reeled off 2-for-3 and 3-for-3 performances with six RBIs to spur the Lady Rattlers to victory.
For the week (three games), she batted .667.
Miller is batting .352 with 23 RBIs and three home runs this season.
