San Antonio – Never before had any Rattler hit as efficiently as Stephanie Proske did this fall, setting the school’s single-season mark for hitting percentage at .323.

Not surprisingly, then, the senior from La Grange, Texas has been named to the All-Heartland Conference Volleyball Team.

Proske, a middle blocker, was joined in gaining recognition by freshman libero Victorria Martinez (Arlington, Texas), who was named the conference’s Co-Freshman of the Year.

Proske, who was named All-Heartland Conference for the second straight year, led the Rattlers in kills (274), hitting percentage (.323) and blocks (82) last season. She also posted 74 digs in leading the Rattlers to their first winning season since 2006 at 17-13.

In hitting .323 for the season, Proske broke the school mark set in 2007 by All-American Samantha Weber.

Martinez made an impact from the start for the Rattlers, filling the void at libero from Day One at St. Mary’s. She played all 30 matches, leading the team with 548 digs (4.94 per set) while adding 27 assists.
