Stefanie Ransom-Becker, a financial services/risk management student at St. Mary’s University, spent this past summer working internships for two different companies in New York City, and came away from the experience with a $2,500 scholarship.

Ransom-Becker participated in the summer interns program for the Intermediaries & Reinsurance Underwriters Association’s (IRU, Inc), a not-for-profit corporation with the goals of reinsurance education and research. At the end of the internship, each student must submit a paper to the IRU Internship Committee that evidence’s the depth of knowledge attained in a specific segment of the business.

The intern with the paper judged best earns a $2,500 scholarship and will attend the IRU Spring Conference in Miami.
