AMARILLO, Texas – Chris Becker turned in his best showing of the season for the St. Mary’s men’s golf team, rounding out the West Texas A&M Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite in Tuesday’s third round.

Becker (Sr., San Antonio) carded a 5-over-par 76 in the final round, good enough to finish in a tie for 15th place with a three-round total of 223.

Becker’s performance helped the Rattlers finish seventh as a team with a score of 903 in an event won by Abilene Christian, which carded an 859. Fueled by a blistering score of 67 in the final round, ACU’s Alex Carpenter also won the individual title with a total score of 208.

Kyle Becker (Fr., San Antonio), St. Mary’s leader after two rounds, finished tied for 23rd place with a score of 227. Right behind him were Sam Jernigan (Sr., San Antonio), who finished tied for 27th at 228; Matthew Van Winkle (Fr., Castroville, Texas), who was tied for 31st at 230; and Marko Lloyd (Fr., New Braunfels, Texas), who tied for 37th at 234.

St. Mary’s will finish up the fall portion of their schedule on Mon., Oct. 24, when it hosts the St. Mary’s Bruce Williams Invitational at the Dominion Country Club.
