San Antonio – Stop us if you’ve heard this before: The St. Mary’s men’s golf team has once again qualified for the regional tournament.

Advancing to the NCAA South Central Region Tournament for the ninth time in as many years under coach Wes Skidmore’s direction, the Rattlers earned the regional-tournament bid yet again, the NCAA announced late Saturday evening.

St. Mary’s, earning the No. 5 seed, was one of 10 teams to make the South Central Region Tournament, which will be held May 2-4 at the Cherry Blossom Golf Club in Georgetown, Ky.

The top five teams and the top two individuals not with a team from each region will advance to the finals, scheduled for May 16-20 at The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals in Florence, Ala.

For the regional tournament, 10 Midwest Region schools and 10 South Central Region schools will be paired up together to form one tournament.

Paced by Jeff Rein’s (Sr., San Antonio) second-place finish, the Rattlers placed fourth at the Heartland Conference Golf Championship earlier this week.
