San Antonio – For the second straight week, St. Mary’s sophomore forward/center Kevin Kotzur has been voted the Heartland Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

The La Vernia, Texas native averaged 15.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while leading the Rattlers (11-5 overall, 5-0 in Heartland Conference) to a 2-0 mark last week that kept them atop the conference standings.

His 15 points and 13 rebounds against Oklahoma Panhandle State represented his fourth double-double of the season, and he has scored in double figures in each of the Rattlers’ 16 games.

Kotzur, last year’s Heartland Conference Newcomer and Freshman of the Year, leads the conference in scoring (17.8 points per game) and rebounding (8.1 boards per game).
