San Antonio – The St. Mary’s softball team will go to bat against the University of Texas in a fall game Friday.

The Rattlers and Longhorns will throw out the first pitch at 6:30 p.m. at McCombs Field in Austin, Texas, in a game that will be televised live on ESPN’s Longhorn Network.

Admission into the event is free.

St. Mary’s went 36-21 last season in winning the Heartland Conference and advancing to the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament for the 10th time in 11 years under legendary coach Donna Fields.

The Longhorns, led by All-American pitcher Blaire Luna, are coming off a 46-10 season in which they advanced to the D-I regional tournament.
