San Antonio – The St. Mary’s women’s soccer season may be over, but it hasn’t stopped the Rattlers from being successful with senior Ashley Condrin and freshman Kaitie Kasperitis earning a spot on the Daktronics Women’s Soccer South Central Region Second Team, it was announced today.

A defensive force, Condrin (Trophy Club, Texas) had a hand in St. Mary’s pitching four shutouts this season and keeping opponents at 1.52 goals per game. The defender not only has the Second Team for the Daktronics Women’s Soccer South Central Region selection to her name but also the All-Heartland Conference First Team selection announced earlier this season. In her junior year, Condrin was twice named the Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Week as well as selected for the All-Heartland Conference Second Team. Condrin started all 18 games in her final season as a Rattler this year.

In her first season at St. Mary’s, Kasperitis (Fr., Corpus Christi, Texas) had quite a start as a newcomer. In addition to the honor of the Daktronics Women’s Soccer South Central Region Second Team selection, Kasperitis also received the Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season.

With her first goal of the season netted within the first 20 seconds of her first ever-collegiate game, Kasperitis ended up leading her team in goals with a total of 11 goals this year. Kasperitis also led the Rattlers in assists with four and had 26 shots on goal for a shot on goal percentage of .591.

Kasperitis’ stats had her second in the Heartland Conference in goals and second in points (26). Despite the freshman holding the number two spot in stats for all of conference, Kasperitis made the All-Heartland Conference Second Team selection, a high honor despite many thinking she deserved a spot on the First Team.

The St. Mary’s women’s soccer team finished third in the Heartland Conference this season and had the final word with two of its Rattlers, senior Condrin and freshman Kasperitis, named to the Daktronics Women’s Soccer South Region Second Team.
