POTTSBORO, Texas – Ursula Perez finished ninth overall, helping St. Mary’s University to a sixth place finish as a team at the Texas A&M University-Commerce Pepsi Lion Invitational, Tuesday afternoon at the Tanglewood Golf Resort and Spa.

Perez (Jr., San Antonio) fired a two-round total of 161 (78-83) to tie for ninth overall, 11 strokes behind the individual champion, Joanna De Sa Pierera of the University of Incarnate Word. Kylee Johnson of Cameron University was second overall with a two-round total of 152, just two strokes behind De Sa Pierera.

Julia Dickens (Fr., Fredericksburg, Texas) finished 32nd overall with 171, followed by Alejandra Cantu (So., Mission, Texas), who was 35th with a 172. Cami Ferguson (New Castle, Calif.) placed 47th overall with a 174, Jenna Wessels (Sr., Katy, Texas) was 49th with a 175 and Erika Patterson (So., San Antonio) finished 84th with a 194.

Angelo State University ran away with the team title, totaling 631 for the two-round tournament. Incarnate Word finished in second place, 17 strokes behind the Rambelles. Midwestern State University was third with a 653, Cameron was fourth with a score of 661, Newman University was fifth with 668 and St. Mary’s was sixth with a 675. There were 16 teams in the field at the tournament.

The Rattlers will return to action in two weeks, when they travel to Goodyear, Ariz., to play in the Grand Canyon Invitational on April 4-5.
