A St. Mary’s University School of Law moot court team was crowned national champion at the Civil Rights and Liberties Moot Court Competition held earlier this month at Emory University School of Law in Atlanta.

The team of Heather Haywood, Trevor Hall and Marion Reilly, all third year law students, bested 25 other teams from across the country – including traditional rival South Texas College of Law – for the national title. In the final round, the St. Mary’s team topped last year’s champion, Michigan State University School of Law. Reilly was recognized as the best brief writer at the competition for an unprecedented second straight year. Hall was awarded the Best Advocate Award for the finals round.

Please join us in congratulating the team and Coach Ricky Poole for adding yet another national honor for St. Mary’s School of Law advocacy teams.
