San Antonio – Jeff Reim, playing in his first tournament for St. Mary’s University, fired a two-round total of 150 to tie for seventh individually and help the Rattlers to a second place standing after the first two rounds of the St. Edward’s University Invitational Men’s Golf Tournament Monday.

Reim (So., Garden Ridge) shot an opening round 74, and then followed that up with a 76 in windy and chilly conditions Monday. He is one of four players tied for seventh individually, eight strokes out of first, but just three strokes out of fourth place. Santiago Quintero of St. Edward’s leads the way individually with an even-par total of 142 (69-73). Keith Okasaki of the University of California-San Diego is second with a 144.

Preston Akromis (Sr., San Antonio) is 11th overall with a two-round total of 151 (80-71). Sam Jernigan (Fr., San Antonio) is 16th with a 153 (81-72), Matt Vela (So., San Antonio) is 52nd with a 161 (79-82), James Grant (Jr., San Antonio) is 57th with a 163 (78-85) and Alex Maurer (Sr., St. Louis, Mo.) is 66th with a 168 (77-91).

In the team standings Dallas Baptist University leads the way with a 607 (298-309), while St. Mary’s and Southwestern Oklahoma State University are tied for second with identical 611s. St. Edward’s varsity and junior varsity teams are tied for fourth at 613.

The St. Edward’s University Invitational will wrap up with the final round on Tuesday morning, teeing off an 8:30 a.m.
