San Antonio – St. Mary’s University senior student-athlete Kelly Dowd was named second team All-Heartland Conference for women’s soccer in a vote of league coaches for her play during the 2009 season.

Dowd (Sr., Plano, Texas) played in 18 games this season, scoring 1 goal, while helping the Rattler defense allow just 1.75 goals per contest. Dowd’s lone goal of the season was the game-winner against the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

In her career, Dowd played in 72 games, scoring 5 goals, while assisting on 1 other. Her 72 games played ties for the eighth most in school history.

St. Mary’s had a 4-14-1 overall record and a 4-8-0 mark in Heartland Conference play during the 2009 season. They finished fifth in the Heartland Conference.
