San Antonio – Jonathon Cisneros pounded out five hits and drove home six runs, while Frank Flores picked up his first win of the season as St. Mary’s University swept past Lincoln University, 19-15, 9-4, in Heartland Conference baseball action Saturday afternoon at V.J. Keefe Memorial Stadium.

Cisneros (So., San Antonio) helped lead the Rattlers from a seven-run deficit in the first inning of game one. Cisneros went 3-of-4 with a homerun, four RBI and three runs scored in the game. After falling behind 7-0 in the top of the first, the Rattlers reeled off 18 unanswered runs to cruise to the win. In the second game of the day Cisneros went 2-of-3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored. Seven different Rattlers had at least one hit, including five with two or more base knocks.

On senior day for the Rattlers Frank Flores (Sr., Laredo) took center stage in game one. Flores came on in relief with one out in the first inning. He tossed a career-high 5 2/3 innings to pick up his first win of the season.

In the second game of the day Tyler Cales (Jr., San Antonio) picked up his fourth win of the season, allowing just two runs on five hits and three walks, while striking out three to improve to 4-3 this season. The Rattlers were the one who took a big early lead in the second game, scoring four runs in the first frame and never looking back.

With the sweep the Rattlers improved to 36-16 overall and 32-13 in Heartland Conference play this season. Lincoln fell to 15-33 and 13-33. St. Mary’s will wrap up the 2008 regular season when they travel south to Laredo to face Texas A&M International University in a four-game series starting Friday.
