San Antonio – Samantha Weber had 17 kills and nine blocks in two matches, but it wasn’t enough as St. Mary’s University dropped two matches at the Rollins College Invitational Saturday afternoon at Warden Arena.

Weber (Sr., Fort Lupton, Colo.) had 11 kills and four blocks in the Rattlers first match against Barry University. But BU countered with 15 aces and 37 kills to defeat the Rattlers in three straight games, 30-21, 30-18, 30-19.

In the Rattlers second match of the day they had a more balanced attack with Stephanie Crowell (So., The Woodlands) picking up nine kills, while Weber had six and five blocks. Laura Sudano (Sr., East Setauket, N.Y.) and Kori McCarver (Fr., San Antonio) each had five kills. Rollins also reached double figures in kills with 11 and had a .339 attack percentage.

With the losses the Rattlers fell to 2-5 on the season and have lost three matches in a row. St. Mary’s will return to action on Wednesday when they host Texas A&M University-Kingsville at 7 p.m. in Bill Greehey Arena.
