Laredo – Kori McCarver led three St. Mary’s University Rattlers with 14 kills as the Rattlers defeated Texas A&M International University in Heartland Conference volleyball action, 30-17, 24-30, 30-25, 30-22, Saturday afternoon at the Kinesiology Building.

McCarver (Fr., San Antonio) tied her season high with 14 kills. Samantha Weber (Sr., Fort Lupton, Colo.) had 13 kills and five blocks. Courtney Matula (Sr., San Antonio) posted a double-double with 53 assists and 10 digs. Valerie Teter (Jr., San Antonio) led the team defensively with 20 digs.

With the win the Rattlers improved to 8-8 overall and 2-1 in Heartland Conference action. TAMIU fell to 1-9, 1-2. St. Mary’s will return to action on Thursday when they travel to Dallas to take on Dallas Baptist University in a Heartland Conference game, starting at 7 p.m.
