Edmond, Okla. – Ursula Perez and Amanda Anderson finished 15th and 17th overall, respectively, leading St. Mary’s University to a seventh place team finish at the Broncho Masters Fall Classic Tuesday.
Perez (Fr., San Antonio) followed up her first round 77 with a second round 79 to finish with a 156 to place 15th overall. Anderson (Jr., San Antonio) also followed up a first round 77 with a second round 80 to tie for 17th. Jenna Wessels (So., Katy) finished 34th with a 167, Marie Hulsey (So., El Paso) was 57th with a 177 and Sonya Sanchez (So., McCamey) placed 65th with a 192.
Individually Carla Cooper of Tarleton State University shot a second round 72 after an opening round 67 to win by three strokes with a two-round total of 139. Alex Smith of St. Edward’s University shot a final round 70 to finish with a two-round total of 142. Shaddhanjali Singh of Tarleton State and Courtney Epps of Northeastern State University tied for third with identical 148s.
Tarleton State won the team competition with a 591 after shooting the best round of the tournament, a 293. St. Edward’s placed second with a 599, while Northeastern State was third with a 625. St. Mary’s placed seventh overall with a 657.
The tournament is the final one of the fall season for the Rattlers. They will return to action this spring when they host the Lady Rattler Classic in March.
