CANYON – West Texas A&M University, currently ranked 16th in the nation, hit .357 in the match and swept past St. Mary’s University, 30-15, 30-15, 30-19, in non-conference volleyball action Wednesday night at the WTAMU Fieldhouse.

The Rattlers struggled against the Buffaloes in all phases of the game, hitting -.045 with just 22 kills. They had just three service aces against 12 service errors in the match.

West Texas A&M, in contrast, had 40 kills against just 10 attack errors, had six service aces and seven blocks.

No Rattlers had more than six kills in the match, with Samantha Weber (Sr., Fort Lupton, Colo.) leading the way with six. Valerie Teter (Jr., San Antonio) led the defense with 10 digs.

With the loss the Rattlers fell to 10-11 overall this season, while WTAMU improved to 20-7. St. Mary’s will return to action on Thursday when they travel to Goodwell, Okla., for a Heartland Conference matchup with Oklahoma Panhandle State University at 7 p.m.
