San Antonio–Samantha Weber had 32 kills and 13 blocks, while Stephanie Crowell added 21 kills and 13 blocks to help St. Mary’s University to a pair of wins on the final day of the St. Mary’s University/Texas MedClinic Invitational, played Saturday at Bill Greehey Arena.
 
Weber (Sr., Fort Lupton, Colo.) reached 20 kills for the first time this season and had her fourth straight double-digit kill match with 20 against Indiana University-Pennsylvania. St. Mary’s won the match 30-27, 22-30, 30-19, 30-25. Crowell (So., The Woodlands) had a season-best 13 kills in the match and added seven blocks, helping the Rattlers post a total of 12 blocks against the Crimson Hawks.
 
In the first match of the day Weber was the only Rattler in double figures in kills with 12, and added seven blocks. Crowell had eight kills and six blocks, while Sarah Moreno (Jr., Pearland) had seven kills in 11 attacks. As a team the Rattlers had 40 kills against just 17 errors and added 11 blocks. The Rattlers defeated Cameron 33-31, 30-26, 30-18 to post their first win of the season.
 
With the wins the Rattlers improved to 2-2 on the young season. Cameron finished the tournament at 1-3, while Indiana-Pennsylvania is now 0-4. The University of Central Missouri won the tournament with a 4-0 record, while the University of Arkansas-Monticello finished second with a 3-1 mark.
 
St. Mary’s will return to action next Friday when they travel to Winter Park, Fla., to participate in the Rollins Invitational.
