EDMOND, Okla. – Jamie Amoretti fired a final round 67 to finish third overall, helping St. Mary’s University to a fourth place finish as a team at the University of Central Oklahoma/Kicking Bird Classic, played Tuesday at the Kicking Bird Golf Club.

Amoretti (Sr., San Antonio) shot his third round of par or better to earn his fifth top-10 finish of the season. He finished with a three-round total of 205 (68-70-67). Blake Slaughter of St. Edward’s won medalist honors with a 201 (67-68-66), while Mitch Boles of host Central Oklahoma was second with a 204 (71-67-66).

Also placing in the top-10 overall was Jimmy Willingham (Jr., San Antonio), who finished in a tie for seventh with a 209 (69-67-73). KC Lim (Sr., San Antonio) finished 13th with a three-round total of 76-66-70). Preston Akromis (So., San Antonio) was 47th with a 220 (76-73-71) and Aaron Welch (Sr., Del Rio) finished 49th with a 221 (75-71-75).

In the team competition St. Edward’s University took top honors, edging out Central Oklahoma, 836 to 837. Right behind was Abilene Christian with an 839 and St. Mary’s with an 843.

The Rattlers will return to action on Monday, April 2-3 when they travel to Muscle Shoals, Ala., for the University of North Alabama Spring Classic. That tournament is the final tune-up before the Heartland Conference Championships, which will be held on April 16-17 in Dallas.
