San Antonio – The St. Mary’s University women’s soccer team will play two home games, while the other fall sports will be away from home in the upcoming week.

Women’s soccer (6-5-1 overall, 2-1-1 Heartland) will have a chance to establish themselves as legitimate contenders for the Heartland Conference title this week. They will host conference co-leader the University of the Incarnate Word on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. at St. Mary’s University Soccer Field. UIW brings a 10-1-1 overall record and a 5-0 mark in Heartland play into the match. The Rattlers will then follow that up by hosting Texas A&M International University on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.

The men’s soccer team will hit the road for two matches this week, starting on Friday at Newman University. The Rattlers (6-6-0 overall, 3-2-0 Heartland) will play the Jets at 7 p.m. in Wichita, Kan. On Sunday the Rattlers will play at another new Heartland Conference opponent, the University of Texas of the Permian Basin at 3:30 p.m. in Odessa. The Rattlers have already played both of their opponents previously this week, defeating Newman 4-1 and UTPB 1-0 earlier this season.

The volleyball team will have a tough week ahead of them, with three matches on the road, including one nationally ranked opponent. The Rattlers (10-10 overall, 4-3 Heartland) will head west to face 17th-ranked West Texas A&M University at 7 p.m. They will then travel to Goodwell, Okla., to play Heartland Conference foe Oklahoma Panhandle State at 7 p.m. They finish their week-long roadtrip by playing Newman University at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The cross country team has its final tuneup for the Heartland Conference Championships this week, traveling to Seguin to run in the Texas Lutheran Invitational Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The Rattlers placed sixth last weekend at the Incarnate Word Invitational.

Also in action this week is the women’s golf team, which will wrap up its fall season at the Broncho Masters Fall Classic on Monday and Tuesday. The softball team will hold its annual alumni game on Saturday afternoon at Rattler Field.
