The Lady Rattlers grabbed a pair of victories on the opening day of tournament action in Kingsville, Texas, defeating Texas Southern 13-0 and Prairie View A&M University 6-2 on Saturday.
St. Mary’s 13 runs against Texas Southern represents its biggest offensive explosion of the season. The Lady Rattlers (4-3) had scored a total of nine runs in its first five games. St. Mary’s pitching staff has yet to allow more than three runs in any game.
On Sunday, the Lady Rattlers will again face Prairie View A&M University at 2 p.m. followed by a matchup at 6 p.m. against the tournament’s host, Texas A&M-Kingsville.
